As a member of the Staffing Services division within the Human Resources & Organizational Development department at the City of Gainesville, I acted as a generalist consultant and strategic partner to multiple departments. The departments I staffed within General Government were Public Works and General Services. The departments I staffed within Gainesville Regional Utilities were Information Technology, GRUCom, Energy Supply, Water / Waste Water, Engineering, and Energy Delivery. In an organization of around 2,400 employees, at any given time I had around 30 vacancies that I was actively recruiting to fill. While working closely with managers to help them understand employee and workplace issues, I would provide guidance and coordinate with other internal and external Human Resources professionals in order to provide a variety of services to management including, but not limited to, selection processes, diversity recruitment, and employee development.
