Technologically Savvy Marketing Consultant

Throughout my career, I've made things happen. From a technical aspect, I was the person that was called when things went wrong or when seemingly insurmountable technical problems presented themselves. That said, I am not a typical "gear head". I have a voracious desire to improve the bottom-line and to seek solutions to the problems which inhibit business opportunities.
In my current role as a business owner and consultant, my goal is continuous innovation through entrepreneurship for myself and my clients with one end in mind -- to build revenues and improve profitability. I deliver against this goal through listening and learning about my clients' businesses and then helping them seek market opportunities both online and off.
My specific flair is for online marketing but many of my clients and personal startups need end-to-end marketing assistance. In these situations, I bring the tools and resources to the table which address the business need despite the "medium".
My goal, simply put, is to generate revenue by making IT happen.

I am the owner and operator of this Interactive Marketing firm. Our services include web design, web programming, graphic design, photography, copy writing and buzz/Guerilla marketing.
Gibraltar Interactive focuses very much on the pragmatic side of Interactive Marketing – we constantly ask, “What is your site doing for you”. This allows us to create online business tools for our clients rather than simple web sites that don’t drive the business’ goals.
While the vast majority of graphic design and programming work is done on shore, we have entertained and leveraged off-shore work where it makes sense for our clients.
Feel free to contact us for a free review of your interactive efforts and to craft a roadmap to online nirvana…
(Real Estate industry)
December 2004 — Present (4 years 8 months)
My role is leadership, vision, execution and management of this real estate investment corporation.
Through this company, I hold several properties in Bellevue and Covington, Kentucky. My team and I rehab dilapidated homes and, on a larger scale, whole neighborhoods to give new home owners a chance and to breath fresh air into both transitional and white-picket-fence neighborhoods.
All in all, I tend to think of myself as a “transactional engineer” doing what it takes to do great work, treat my employees well and to make magic happen.
Contact us about buying, selling or renting homes. The phone is always on and the e-mail is always watched.

July 2006 — March 2007 (9 months)
My group at Atos Origin, Inc. was responsible for all aspects of Interactive Marketing for all clients in North America. This role expanded the geographic scope of my previous role and also gave me the opportunity to work with exciting new clients. An additional consideration for accepting this role was the opportunity to build upon previous experience with the on-shore/off-shore model of development and client service.
Group budget and resource development was a responsibility of this role. In addition, sales pipeline development and client satisfaction were significant components of the effectiveness measures.
While this was a great role, I decided to step out of “Corporate America” to follow my passion for real estate investment and development.

May 2004 — July 2006 (2 years 3 months)
As Director of Technology, I managed 15 programmers and 2 quality assurance people. This role was responsible for the production wing of the company, the infrastructure, platforms and technologies used to create the client’s interactive programs and the client perceptions of Bridge Worldwide’s (BWW) technical competence and ability to execute against online marketing goals.
The initial concern in this role was tackling perceived and real quality problems with our product. With that addressed, the Technology Team was rebranded/realigned as a strategic resource in the creative process rather than simply a production resource for the company.
The efforts put forth in this role helped lay a foundation upon which BWW both came to be known as a “World-class Relationship Marketing Agency” and helped to pave the way for BWW to become part of the WPP network of agencies through acquisition

August 2003 — May 2004 (10 months)
In this role, the group had responsibility for all North American B2C and B2B web sites at P&G. The main functions were:
- Infrastructure planning, execution and management
- Issue and problem resolution
- Site launch management and consulting
One personal accomplishment in this role was the creation of a three-tier, redundant and high-availability hosting environment based upon an architect’s input. Sun Solaris machines running iPlanet, ATG Dynamo and Oracle were used. The resulting hosting service was easy to use, low-cost and rock solid. Nine years later, the same basic layout and architecture is still in use and receiving millions of hits per week.
In addition, personal resources were put toward working with the Brands and their interactive agencies as an interactive/site-launch consultant. The sites which I personally had responsibility for were:

Please refer to the description of my role at Hewlett Packard. The role at each of these companies was identical. Simply put, Procter & Gamble outsourced all of the Central IT division, which included the ICE Team that I was a member of, to HP.

1995 — 2000 (5 years)
Technical aspects of this role included computational chemistry and rational drug design using techniques like ab initio modeling, QSAR, nearest-neighbor chemo-informatics searches, protein homology modeling and ligand fitting. The primary goal of this work was to bring insight to the company on issues surrounding new product development and problem resolution.
In addition, new-business prospecting, system administration work and web development where a part of this role. The system administration work was done as a secondary resource for a large Silicon Graphics (SGI) network and a 32-processor linux cluster. All web development work, which was done in Lotus Notes, HTML, PERL CGI and JavaScript, focused around the delivery of our research outcomes and knowledge to our internal brand customers.
