I lead the Center of Excellence investigating best practices and understanding behavior in social software systems in the IBM Social Software Programs & Enablement team.
I used to lead a distributed team at IBM developerWorks that defines strategy on their overall community initiative. My goal was to help build greater social interaction between the developers using appropriate Web 2.0 technologies on the IBM developerWorks site.
I'm created and taught a new course on Managing Online Communities with the Univ. of Arizona, Management Information Science dept. with the goal of training future Community Managers
I co-authored a book with the IBM Asset & Integration Services team titled "Service-Oriented Architectures: Business Value, Planning and Enterprise Roadmap" through IBM Press/developerWorks series. This book has been translated to Russian, Japanese and Korean.
I have been a consultant with broad experience in many aspects of software issues in distributed computing. Direct experience in ISP operations, distributed applications development, project management. Particularly interested in software integration issues such as Web services, service-oriented architectures, grid computing, and component architectures.
I have a personal interest in the theory and practice of swordfighting techniques. Third degree black belt and Sensei in Ryuseiken Battodo (Japanese swordfighting).
