In February my novel AMERICA LIBRE was nominated for the 2008 International Latino Book Awards by MacArthur genius grant recipient Rueben Martinez of Libreria Martinez in February. On May 29th, AMERICA LIBRE won Best Novel - Adventure or Drama - English at the award ceremony held during Book Expo America 2008 in Los Angeles.
