    As a Consultant to the Commodity Management Department at Merrill Lynch Corporate Services, I advised and worked with Global Sourcing & Procurement Services and Americas Property Management Services; developing strategy and providing advice specific to real estate management, contract negotiation, purchasing, strategic e-sourcing, entitlements, legal administration and implementation. Engagements included
    procurement and negotiation agreements for facilities management encompassing USA, Canada and Latin America, non-technical office support commodities including: security, construction, office equipment, etc. Specific components of these initiatives include financial applications, third party providers, critical systems, data centers, business continuity, organized labor, key performance
    indicators, service level agreements, fees at risk, transition, etc.

Within one year, Mr. Alamo developed a new business strategy, which included re-alignment of personnel, [assignments and responsibilities], assessing all expenditures, analysis of P&L and working with the CB Richard Ellis Comptroller to establish new budgets for the entire region. In addition to identifying shortfalls of the portfolio and implementing the new processes, Mr. Alamo personally pursued improved relations with the client and as a result gained support for the new management process. In addition to successful development of a new business management process, Mr. Alamo implemented and provided oversight for a $100,000,000 capital project budget.

    After being affiliated in his early career with prestigious real estate portfolios including the General Motors Building, the American Red Cross, the New York Daily News, Estee Lauder, Revlon, Booze-Allen-Hamilton, etc., Mr. Alamo ventured with partners to form a small design-build firm. Mr. Alamo’s charge was to promote this new venture to the New York City market and to oversee secured projects. Mr. Alamo was able to form beneficial relations with major municipal agencies including the Mayor’s Office of Construction, the Department of Housing, Preservation and Development, the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, the New York City Department of Housing and the NY/NJ Port Authority. Public projects included JFK 2000; private projects included infrastructure and code consulting for private owners in anticipation of Y2K.
