Wrote a twice-a-month email newsletter for the users of Bentley Systems software products; minimal corporate supervision. I created the newsletter when I was a Bentley employee (see item for Editor, MicroStation Manager).
Reason for leaving: Bentley ended the contract with plans to take the work in-house on a cost-cutting move; newsletter died soon after.

I was recruited as Editor when Bentley purchased this 70,000-circ. monthly glossy technology magazine. Led staff of two assistant editors and two designers. Guided the transition from print to online-only publication (www.msmonline.com) in 2001. Created the concept and started writing MSM Insider newsletter in 2001 as a promotional tool for the online magazine; newsletter doubled in size to more than 23,000 circ. during my tenure.
Reason for leaving: Laid off with substantial severance benefits during marketing change of direction; Bentley immediately asked me to work as a contractor to continue MSM Insider.
