Karthik Raman’s Summary
I am a PhD candidate at the Indian Institute of Science, and my thesis concerns the application of computational tools to the modelling of biochemical networks/organisms for drug discovery.
My primary research interests are in the area of Systems Biology, particularly pathway modelling and in the analysis of complex networks. I have experience in constraint-based modelling of biochemical networks, comparative phylogenetic analysis of genomes and comparative metabolic network analysis.
I am particularly interested in the application of complex network science to various disciplines, in and outside biology.
I look forward to a career of research in an industry or academic setting.

Thesis: Study of staling and preservation of cereal-legume based fermented foods (2003)
Studied the staling and preservation of dosa, a traditional cereal-legume based fermented food and succeeded in achieving a shelf-life of 3 weeks by using a combination of permitted preservatives and emulsifiers. -
