Orolix is a free, dialed-in internet service provider, which furthermore pays the users to surf the net. I was hired to help the company to improve the software development area, and revamp the software development, quality assurance and infrastructure departments. This work had been finalized with a complete reengineering of the company, now subdivided in smaller, autonomous units. I have managed a team of 30+ people, being also responsible for defining processes, (re)-defining project management concepts, and so on. Customers: around 40,000 active customers.

My relationship with SENAC began as a software developer, through WhiteHat. Afterwards, I became the manager in charge of the IT infra-structure for the whole São Paulo state. In this position, I coordinated the team and the efforts to provide network conectivity and services for the several departments and units throughout the capital and countryside. I concentrated in creating and documenting processes, organizing and optimizing the overall technological view, being also responsible for redefining the hardware and software structure for the organization.

Founded in 1993 by me and another partner, Brazil Connection was meant to be a commercial bridge between Brazil and the United States - hence the name. The Miami office (Brazil Connection Inc) started representing the largest Brazilian newspaper, Folha de S.Paulo, soon followed by Byte Magazine and other publications. Due to our strong technological background, we specialized in the computer market.
Starting in 1996 we have completely restructured, building an Internet Service Provider from the ground up, including all the infrastructure for communication, products definition and software development. During this time, I handled most of the managerial, research and development functions. Customers: Yellow Pages, O Estado de S.Paulo, Acer, and more than 300 small and medium-sized businesses.

Data Safe created Punch!, the first Windows-compatible big software in Brazil, a CAD/CAM system for industrial machines. This was a very complex project, including a complete AutoCAD-like interface, built-in C compiler, serial communications module, post-processor techniques and several other features. Customers: Punch! was (and still is, to some extent, even though officially discontinued) used by almost every large Brazilian company that had a punching machine: Siemens, Caterpillar, Otis, and many others.
