Ralph Poole is a respected business leader and accomplished executive. He has extensive experience leading Knowledge Management, Technology Implementation, Information Architecture, eDiscovery and Strategy consulting projects in global companies. He has pioneered the application of Lean Thinking to improvement of knowledge work. This approach focuses on understanding what is important to the customer and eliminating wasted effort in delivering results. He held senior executive positions in four of the world's premier management consulting and IT consulting firms: Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, Ernst &Young LLP, and Capgemini (a French IT consultancy). In this capacity, Ralph built multidisciplinary teams across several continents and was responsible for radically improving global learning and development, knowledge management, ediscovery and software development processes.
Ralph is an expert at managing change in large geographically dispersed global organizations. When dealing with people in organizations, changing technology and work practices requires the same planning and problem solving discipline as technical and software engineering. Ralph has managed projects that required changing the work practices thousands of people with this approach.
Ralph’s work has been documented in the Harvard Business Review, CIO and Fortune Magazine. He presents at conferences and frequently writes and comments on knowledge sharing technologies, Enterprise 2.0 systems and executive education.
