Rachel is an award-winning freelance writer and author based in the SF Bay Area.
She started out as a newspaper reporter. Her first beat was covering education -- hence her passion to educate the young people in our country to be great thinkers and writers.
She has written and edited textbooks for the state of California, grade K - 8, including multimedia teacher's guides.
Her most recent assignment in education was writing the afterword for Theodore Dreiser's "Sister Carrie" (Signet Classics), due out January '09.
In the past year, she written features on parenting and relationships for:
Family Circle
MSN.com
LifetimeTV.com
Pregnancy
Parenting
American Baby
~~~
She will try to discourage her editors from reading her dating memoir: Single Mom Seeking (2007, Seal Press).
In 2006, Rachel founded her website Single Mom Seeking, which has since grown into the number one site for single parents. In addition to moderating a forum for single parents, she offers advice and tips on divorce, parenting, dating, and more.
