Rachel Martin Design is an eco-friendly graphic design studio producing creative solutions to help businesses and non-profits build unique brand messages with positive social and environmental impacts. The studio is committed to high quality and sustainable design, which is evident in its attention to detail for innovative and intelligent communication materials.
Rachel Martin, Principal, is a senior graphic designer with over a decade of design and communications experience. As a green advocate, she collaborates with eco-conscious leaders on a national level in marketing, packaging, product design, promotions, web development, architecture and more. She believes designers have the power to lead the way in communicating the importance of positive socially and ecologically responsible messages and implements these values into her projects and everyday life.
Before relocating to Charlotte, NC, Rachel was the senior designer and project manager of Corporate Communications in New York City for Louis Dreyfus, an international group of diversified businesses that is one of the largest privately held companies in the world. She had the honor of working with Tom Wood of award-winning firm, Wood Design, who collaborated with such talents as Richard Saul Wurman, Massimo Vignelli and Tibor Kalman. Her work has been honored with awards from Applied Arts, Creativity, HOW, I.D. and Print Magazine. Rachel began her career in advertising as a graphic designer at BBDO Worldwide. She graduated from Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fine Arts and Graphic Design.
Rachel is the Membership Director of the Charlotte chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design, an adopter of the Designers Accord, member of Design Can Change and DESIGN 21: Social Design Network and actively involved with the AIGA Center for Sustainable Design.

Created new identity and coordinated corporate identity transition of LDCommodities in over 53 countries. Designed and managed LDCommodities Intranet BrandCenter. Oversaw global brand identities and directed worldwide Corporate Communications contacts. Designed, directed and distributed electronic correspondence templates and brand guidelines. Designed, produced and distributed annual corporate holiday cards for all departments on a global basis. Played a lead role in projects from inception through final production. Established project requirements and consulted with team on assigning work. Supervised and directed junior designers and interns. Determined production schedules and tracked projects to ensure deadlines were met. Created budget proposals, print specifications and cost estimates for production and printing. Directed and supervised vendors on printing, promotions and advertising. Supervised printing, proofing and press checks.
