I am a corporate hippie living, loving, and running a business in a rented farmhouse in Charlotte, Vermont. I first dabbled in public relations when writing a newsletter for my parents about the life and times of my cat and dog in the fifth grade. My first business was a baby sitting club in the sixth grade which flopped because I was more interested in marketing the business than baby sitting. I theatrically skirted through high school and earned a public relations degree from Marist College in 1998. I independent womaned it in Nashville for the following two years in non-profit program management and kicked my New England self up to Vermont in the spring of 2000. I attempted drowning in insurance marketing for a year and then found myself an agency that would take me with lots of energy and wit, but no media contacts. Then I got them. And I learned, watched, listened, talked, judged, messed up, overstepped boundaries, got ink, built relationships, stressed out, had fun, and realized who I was, what I wanted, and how to do it. Then I did it.
I am a professional storyteller living in the world of the internet and impassioned by personal connections between people. I rock Vermont in everything I do. Come chat about it with me over a glass of sun tea on the Rachel Carter PR farmhouse porch overlooking moose habitat and bird wetlands. Or email me as long as you know I'm no typical PR chick. Love and Light.
