Attended and reported on the 2001 Sundance and Berlin film festivals and provided coverage of 2001 Independent Spirit Awards and Academy Awards activities. In March of 2001 the editor in charge of the section and the entire department were let go in massive downsizing. As a result, the column died a quick death.
