E-Learning Consultant, Advisor at Colombian Ministry of Education
Colombia
I've worked since 1999 in projects related to the use of Information and Communication Technologies in Education. I started as a researcher at University of Los Andes' Educational Informatics R&D Laboratory (LIDIE), and in 2005, I became project manager of the National Project on Use of Media and New Technologies in Higher Education, at the Ministry of Education of Colombia.
I've led the design and development of institutional projects at both University and National levels, on areas such as teacher training, online teacher communities, learning objects, and strategic planning of ICT integration. I've organized and coordinated baseline studies on ICT use in education, as well as international conferences and seminars.
I’m passionate about building bridges between areas like technology & education, social media & education, technology & psychology, etc. I’m passionate about experimenting with web technology that can be used by teachers, and about leading by example. I want to help others to think differently about education and learning, to realize that we have the tools to change and improve our reality.
In my personal website, I write about the situation and potential of ICT in the educational system, and about the impact of new media in learning and society.
