Mr. Figueroa has over 20 years of significant digital signal processing, communications and computer experience. Under contract to Apple he developed a DSP hardware reference platform for the Advanced Technology Group in the mid 1980's, supporting Telephony, Audio, and Speech Recognition. Subsequently, he developed software and hardware systems for MPEG audio and video compression at Compression Labs. Later, in 1997 as vice-president of engineering he was the technical architect demonstrating scalable internet server based telephony speech recognition technology, sold to General Magic.
Under his management at Apple, he innovated "system level constraints" with leading EDA vendors Cadence Design Systems and SiSoft Inc. a complete Hspice design flow across multiple CPUs and multiple boards. Die-to-die system level signal management at 1 Ghz was implemented in 2002. This made Apple the first Cadence customer to achieve this level of automation, by working with Mr. Figueroa's ECAD department and Cadence R&D software engineering team.
Leveraging his early computer, video and internet exposure Mr. Figueroa at Intel performed significant patent portfolio analysis across networks, storage systems, graphics, video coding, and telephony related technologies.
