I am interested mainly in webdesign and open-source programming in the field of e-Learning, Computational Linguistics, and Computer Aided Language Language Learning, fields in which I have a certain experience already.
Moreover, I am a linux user and administrator, capable of server administration for a wide variety of services. I am also a fond supporter of open-source technology.
I am co-founder and main developer of the UniLang Language Community ( http://dev.unilang.org ), a non-profit language community founded in 2000, and now a prominent presence on the internet with many members, visitors and resources. Our aim is to unite people with an interest in language and in such a way facilitate language learning. Services available are a wealth of free language resources, and a popular forum and chat. The resources are developed in a community effort by our members themselves, and licensed under an open license

The LT4eL project uses multilingual language technology tools and semantic web techniques for improving the retrieval of learning material. The developed technology will facilitate personalized access to knowledge within learning management systems and support decentralisation and co-operation in content management. Multiple European universities take part in this project, which is supported by the European Community under
the Information Society and Media Directorate, Learning and Cultural Heritage Unit.
I was the webmaster of the project website (http://www.lt4el.eu), which I also completely redesigned. In addition I performed further technical management support.

Whilst attending this school, I saw the need to develop a software system for lesson planning, out of discontent with the old-fashioned paper-based system in existence at the time. I developed and sold, and maintained a system called "EasyPlanner".
Later, I was also asked to build another software system for grading in the "Programma van Toetsing en Afsluiting (PTA)""
