President/Owner of Jim Russell Productions ("The Program Doctor")
Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area
I am a program creator, a program doctor and a talent scout. I have invented new programs including "Marketplace," "Weekend America," the concept for PRI's "The World" and as one of NPR's first correspondents and producers, I helped create NPR's "All Things Considered" and "Morning Edition."
I am a "Program Doctor" -- I help stations and other producers invent new programs, diagnose problems with existing shows and help redesign them to make them more successful. I know what it takes for programs to succeed. And, since outstanding talent is the heart of good programs, I help find, recruit and help train talented staff.
