January 2005 — Present (4 years 11 months)
I started Elliot's Preemie Tees because my grandson, Elliot Cardon, was born 10 weeks premature. He weighed only 1 pound 12 ounces. I unsuccessfully tried to find clothes to fit his tiny frame so I decided to make clothes for him myself. When I took the clothes to the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit the nurses fell in love with his clothes and encouraged me to make Elliot's clothes available to other families. The rest is history!

In order to apply for another Charter School in the State of Utah I had to work to change the law to allow additional schools:
Lobbied Republicans and Democrats to support the passage of additional Charter Schools in a Bi-partisan Charter School Bill.
Addressed the Senate Education Committee of the Utah State Legislature in behalf of increasing the number of Charter Schools in the State of Utah. Rallied public support and encourage the committee to vote to send the bill to the next step.
Addressed the House Education Committee of the Utah State Legislature in behalf of increasing the number of Charter Schools in the State of Utah. Rallied public support and encouraged the committed to vote to send the bill to the next step.
Worked with Senator Howard Stephenson, sponsor of SB 169, toward the passage of SB 169 into law. This bill would allow the addition of 4 Charter Schools each year for the next three years. This bill was passed into law in April 2001.
