SQL SERVER ARCHITECT

I specialize in architecture solutions around Microsoft SQL Server. I am the one you are looking for if you need to install, upgrade or migrate one or more SQL Servers. I documented, configured and implemented various architectures related to geo-clusters and Microsoft clusters. Mirrors, log shipping, transactional and merge replication are also in my repertoire of expertise.

As an architect, I can also review your business processes like change management, backup jobs and SQL in general. I control also the interconnections with other database servers like Oracle, MySQL or DB2. I also worked on SOX compliance and therefore am sensitive to the security aspect of information.

DATABASE ADMINISTRATION

I played production DBA role most of my career. I worked on Windows environment, Linux and UNIX and therefore I write scripts for Windows, KSH or BASH or VBScript and PowerShell. Obviously I have a collection of TSQL scripts which would allow me to control, optimize and monitor SQL servers.

I worked with external tools like Ider Diagnostic Manager and others. I adapt both to the constraint of working with these tools, or I develop my own scripts.

APPLICATIONS DEVELOPMENT

The development of stored procedures, functions and triggers have no secrets for me. I can also assist in query optimization: Analysis of query execution plans, verification of statistics, to ensure the correct indexes exist or propose changes to the schema to help accelerate the execution of joins. I can find "SQL injection" security holes and help solve many other problems. I've also developed a number of DTS and SSIS packages and I am comfortable with developing COM and .NET applications.
