Our society is rapidly developing into a networksociety and the present is characterized by fundamental changes that are happening faster and faster. There is growing complexity and an increasing dependence on the ability to adapt and to innovate. Meanwhile the exponentially increasing technical capabilities of ICT is a very important 'enabling' factor for optimal organizational success.
The strength of rationality is logic, details, words and language, past and present, mathematics, understanding, knowing, recognizing patterns and order, reality, safety and pragmatics. It gave us the industrial revolution. But that is not enough anymore ...
The power of modern organisations in a knowledge economy and networksociety is human creativity, seeing "the big picture", imagination, symbols and images, present and future, philosophy, meaning, belief, value, space and context, imagination, taking risks and being able to adapt.
The strategic link between rationality, the ICT opportunities, all human aspects of innovation, organizations and the networksociety, means that seemingly opposing forces (should) come together; the core of complexity. Ensuring that this happens in such a way that all connections are complementary and mutually reinforcing is the result of successful organizational development.
On "human intensive” organizations that look at development more fundamentally than only from the industrial rational perspective, but do wish to develop their joint adaptability, I have a mountain of experience, a set of appropriate competencies, and especially a high degree of ambition and energy to offer. I like to commit myself to that organization, in the expectation to learn very much every day, and have fun, from and with colleagues.
