I am a Cultural Creative; a growing demographic of people (there are several million of us) who believe in the importance of following our passion(s) and collaborating with others to enrich ourselves, our communities and the world around us through a deep concern for authenticity, optimism towards the future, and involvement in creating a new and better way of life.
Fueled by creativity, I get off on what’s original, aesthetic, resourceful and thought provoking.
I blog about what’s happening with cultural creatives like artists, designers, architects, writers, eco-preneurs, and businesses that are working towards a better, more thoughtful and connected world.
I started Planet Pink n’ Green over a year ago in Portland, Oregon as a natural extension of my former work as an Interior Designer and Feng Shui Consultant.
I found myself, in an effort to keep costs down for my clients, referring them to big box stores for furniture and decorative items.
Eventually I had a crisis of conscience and knew I needed to make a change. I decided to go out into the community, and find resources that were beautiful as well as earth friendly (pink and green) and ended up producing and starring in my own video blogs (on the video page) that highlighted some eco-chic pioneers.
It was exciting and important in raising awareness around entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations who were re-shaping business practices to a more sustainable approach. I’m happy to see that trend growing.
Planet Pink n’ Green continues to evolve and grow in many directions. Really it is just a place to celebrate the best parts of being human. It’s also a growing collective of people who contribute their unique stories, get inspired and passionate about ideas, and come together in a commitment to care for our surroundings. The world is changing, and I’m really grateful to be alive at this time and to be contributing to the dialog on its evolution.
