March 1995 — Present (14 years 10 months)
I work as on a voluntary basis for this Arts in Health Charity which I founded in 1995. It has published quarterly in its current format since autumn 1998. I acted as Editor from foundation until July 2010. It started as a retirement hobby but blossomed into the most widely read national poetry publication and the most extensive arts in health programme in the NHS. Circulation comes to some 50,000 poetry cards a quarter.
Previously, my professional life was as a consultant economist. I founded my practice as Lee Donaldson Associates in 1971, working for state departments, local authorities and national retailers on development strategy - as well as for NHS clients.
Previous experience involved appointments with organisations such as the Engineering Industry Training Board, The Office of Health Economics and The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
From 1953 to 1956, I served as a Flying Officer in the Royal Air Force 2nd TAF mostly in nothern Germany, after graduating from the London School of Economics.
I served as a member of Richmond Borough Council in the 1960s and was eelcted as Chairman of the Estates Committee. I contested General Elections as a LIberal candidate in 1964, 1966 and 1974.
I married Gwendoline in 1956 and have three grown children and five grand children. I saw a tee shirt slogan in Los Angeles - "Has we known that grand children were so much fun, we would have started with them!"
