Intergen is a Microsoft Gold Partner and I worked in the Development and Integration department. I was responsible for the development teams on a number of large scale projects. As a member of the Development Steering Group I was involved in setting the strategic direction for D&I. I acted on the behalf of Intergen as a consulting Architect on the Design Authority of a large government agency, advising and reviewing software architecture strategy.

Development of the BlueCatalyst Portal using
SharePoint Portal Server 2003, Exchange 2003, Active Directory, Windows 2003, and Visual C#.NET.
We've done major customization, using webparts, webcontrols and webservices. The best part of this project is althought it is a large and complex project the team that worked on it was all senior developers and contractors. The project management of the team was exceptional and we have met every deadline, came in under budget and all this without working overtime. A true .NET success story!

KHA merged with EasiRun Software and we then listed on the JSE under the UCS group. It was a great time to be in I.T. and I became a paper millionaire before I turned 29!
Two years later the good times was over and I decided to go at it alone again.

January 1996 — May 1998 (2 years 5 months)
I started at KHA as a contractor, but quickly established myself to such an extend that I was offered a partnership in the company. We were an od bunch of old and new school developers, I headed the Microsoft Technology drive and Kevin headed the COBOL development.

What a great team! I worked in the Money Transfer division, I was placed on call-out duty only one month after I joined, above people three to six months my senior, talk about being tossed into the deepend. I survived and truly enjoyed my stay at SBSA. But I was more interested in the new GUI developments and COBOL CICS just wasn't all that exciting for me.
