I have been architecting Microsoft solutions for many years now, with a particular emphasis on Office SharePoint Server. In 2004 I was hired as an instructor to teach Mindsharp’s SharePoint 2003 developer course. After doing that for a while, I left Mindsharp to lead RSM McGladrey's (a fortune 500 company) SharePoint efforts as their SharePoint Architect and Technical Lead. While there, I provided leadership over McGladrey’s SharePoint environments including all application development, SharePoint administration, and server administration. Additionally, I architected numerous in-house applications that utilized and extended the SharePoint platform to meet unique business needs.
After being at McGladrey for a while, Bill English from Mindsharp invited me back to Mindsharp as a SharePoint Instructor again, because they couldn't meet the intense demand for Developer instructors. I taught with Mindsharp again for almost one year, and just recently moved into consulting, where I hope to continue to develop my business and problem solving experience and passions.
As far as goals go, I will continue my pursuit of a career in IT Management. Particularly, becoming a senior Director and eventually CIO, or the like, are my long term aspirations. My experiences while leading McGladrey’s SharePoint team solidified that my passion is to lead people and organize team efforts to get difficult jobs done. While I wait for the stars to align, I will continue to strive to grow as an organized and effective leader at the tactical level.
