As Managing Consultant at Endor, I organize the provision of our 4 service lines to the Australian IT community – Network Events | Search Recruitment |Payroll Services | Soft Skill Training.
I also provide private consulting services to the Australian recruitment industry, both to recruitment agencies and to internal recruiting teams, and manage / moderate a number of highly specialised network business communities on a no fee basis.

My career has primarily been focused on the engagement of business professionals for recruitment purposes, following a brief career as a computer programmer / business analyst. For the last fourteen years, I have managed teams of recruiters.

Endor are experts in finding people and forming relationships with them, and have 4 service lines:
1. Network services
We form nice communities and bring the members of these communities together in order that they develop valuable relationships based on trust and respect. Our recruitment team (see below) often turn to these networks for assistance in finding elusive candidates, and we offer sponsorship packages to organisations wishing to gain introduction to our network communities.
Our controlled network service includes a ‘Study Tour’ for IT Managers, where small groups are introduced over a 2 day period to numerous senior CIO’s in a study tour arrangement, experiencing intimate and formal presentations on structure; business alignment; outsourcing; and the general management of a corporate IT function.
2. Recruitment services
We concentrate on positions that cannot often be filled via advertising on Internet job boards, as we believe that our clients can save large sums by filling some positions themselves. We rarely advertise ourselves, and prefer a rifle shooting approach to proactively identifying candidates via networking (see above) and search.
3. Payroll Service.
As we believe that organisations can now address a large percentage of their recruitment needs directly, we offer payroll services either to organisations who require ‘distance’ between their company and an external contractor, or to individuals who have secured a contractual engagement with an organisation and require a payroll service. Our services in this area are supplied via our association with an established global payroll organisation.
4. Business Communication Training for IT professionals
Via an association with an established NLP Master Practitioner, we facilitate and provide either customised corporate training programs or pay-per-head public programs, which improve the business communication skills of IT professionals.

The mission of these Business Networks is to facilitate forums that foster relationships of trust between members and external business contacts, which will assist in the delivery of the corporate objectives and the personal development of members.

Agreed numerous high volume staffing contracts with the UK National Health Service and implemented Master Vendor Agreements, managing full control of all external recruitment agency activity and providing a single point of reference for each client.

Plexian was formed by the merge of Olympian Consultancy and Plexus Personnel.
I was responsible for the HQ sales operation of Olympian, then the web based recruitment service of Plexian (post merger). Developed new service lines, positioned as a mentor and senior member of the management team post merger and assisted with the restructure of the organisation.

Progressed from introduction to recruitment into level 2 role, leading operations through preferred agreements at numerous clients and managing teams of recruiters. Services included contract and permanent recruitment, delivered through close working relationships.

Promoted internally with Bass, as a Business Systems Analyst I liaised with end user departments and a corporate Information Technology team, involved in the full systems development lifecycle of applications typically for commercial use in HQ.
Smaller more local systems were developed in house, often by myself, using PC based 4GL's such as Clipper. Larger system development was conducted by a central team of IT development staff and I retained a user liaison role, often being involved in UAT.

Working closely with Senior Management and Directors in commercial roles, I produced local Management Information Systems, receiving data feeds from mainframe systems, to assist in commercial decision making at board level.
Management, people and organisational development. Sport - Soccer (join the Sydney lunchtime soccer group via the "Groups Directory"; I play left back for the Seaforth over 35's; am an active member of North Steyne Surf Patrol (#16); and swim with Manly Warringah Masters Swimming club. Kids - Very competitive kids, and I often help with the management of their clubs (including Manly Vale Football Club, North Steyne 'Nippers' SLSC, Northern Beaches Gymnastics Club). Food - She (normally) cooks it - I eat it. Furniture restoration.
