Web 2.0 and overall business strategy.
(Self-Employed; Myself Only; Fine Art industry)
February 2003 — Present (6 years 10 months)
On February 2003, I came up with a novel form of art where the artwork is an experience facilitated by the artist; I named it experiential art. The artist gathers relevant information about the subject of experience (an individual or group) and then uses this information the same way a poet uses words to compose a poem of experience. You can find two experiential artworks presented in my main website changeyourreality.com just click on "Create". Individuals and organisations who are interested in commissioning an experiential artwork can submit their proposals through my main website.
(Self-Employed; Myself Only; Research industry)
October 2005 — October 2006 (1 year 1 month)
My areas of research are the following:
- Why we value the things we do
- Human nature
- The nature of moral judgment (right and wrong)
- The nature of truth
- Happiness and the conditions under which we flourish
My investigation is broad and interdisciplinary across philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, biology and cognitive science.
(Partnership; 51-200 employees; Marketing and Advertising industry)
March 2005 — April 2005 (2 months)
I had to come up with creative titles and descriptions for a range of products and events. I didn't need the job; I just decided to experiment with something new.
I confirmed my suspicion that when it comes to the advertising industry lying by exaggeration or understatement in differing versions of subtlety and insinuating connections between products and unrelated objects of value or desire in order to increase the value and desirability of the product is pretty much a standard practice in the promotion of products. This leads to a progressive, usually unconscious, densensitisation and alienation of core values like truth-telling to the individuals who work there. That was the main reason I quit only after a month, not to mention the fact that coming up with titles for detergents is far from fulfilling for any self-actualizing human being.
