  ECHO Joint Agreement is a special education school district. They have many buildings located throughout the southern Chicago land area. My duties are computer and networking support for all these buildings. It requires me to commute from location to location. I do operating system administration, configuration, help desk and system level application support, network and server monitoring and performance tuning of operating system, hardware, and applications. My job also requires me to have very good communication skills with fellow co-workers. Frequently I have to educate fellow employees on how to perform certain tasks with a computer or explain what had or has gone wrong with a network or machine. I've refined my social skills and how to read and talk to people. There are older employees at ECHO that don't understand majority of what makes up a computer and how it works. So choosing the right words to describe situations to them has been hard but gotten easier with more experience.

  While in high school I interned as a computer technician for my local school district.I performed most of the grunt work like moving computers, basic maintenance, setting up labs, and setting up for school registration. During this time I was taught the basics of how networks work and how to proficiently use different operating systems. I also learned social skills and how politics work in the workplace between people.
