i-sieve technologies & W3C
United Kingdom
I divide my time equally between two different roles.
i-sieve technologies provides cutting edge analysis of online reaction and impact of advertising and marketing. Using a combination of machine learning and ontologies (it's seriously clever!) We extract relevant comments from blogs, message boards etc. not just numbers.
i-sieve supports my work on POWDER (http://www.w3.org/2007/powder/), the Quatro Plus project and wider work on semantics and metadata.
At the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) I develop and deliver training on Web technologies for mobile. Part of the Mobile Web Initiative, the training draws on the output of various working groups, especially the MWI Best Practices. If you want to know how to make your Web content available on mobile - I can tell you!
The two jobs complement each other but there's a clear line between the two.
