Practitioner of Yoga since 2000, Petra studies various forms including Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Kripalu and Jivamukti. Petra has completed the 200-hour Yoga Alliance Instructor Program at Yoga Vermont with Kathy McNames, and currently instructs Vinyasa classes at Yoga Vermont's downtown Burlington and Chace Mill studios, as well as volunteers teaching Yoga to teens at the Boys & Girls Club. Petra has participated in several workshops including practitioners Manju Jois, Beryl Bender Birch and Alan Finger at the 2007 FitYoga Conference.
Petra received a B.Sc. in Nutrition & Food Sciences with a concentration in Dietetics from the University of Vermont. A member of the American Dietetic Association, Petra also encompasses diverse work experiences in various local service fields, holding former positions at Fresh Market Specialty Foods, UVM and Smart Nutrition Company. Serving as a correspondent & partner of Tough Love Nutrition, Petra provides refreshing viewpoints on current nutrition & wellness trends. As a Nutritionist, she personally consults with individuals on the finer points of healthy lifestyle and wellness through practical nutrition, fitness and mindfulness. From her education and experience, Petra enthusiastically shares her mission to nourish the mind, body and spirit.
Hailing from outside of the beautiful European city Prague, Petra has traveled extensively throughout North America and Europe. From Caribbean spice to European delicacies, Petra’s worldly travels give her the pleasure to critique some of the finest authentic cuisine. In her spare time, she enjoys creating her own healthy recipes and routines, as well as capturing the world in photographs, reading and simply being.
