Statistical IT Officer at Statistics Canada
Ottawa, Canada Area
I identify as a computer programmer. I presently study systems sciences. I code and program mostly in statistical languages such as SAS or R but also maintain work on the web. I am fairly creative yet also an able scientist. I also very active in community organizing and some labour activism. My interests academically focus on social topics and the intersection of sociology with both law and with computers. At work not directly related to my master's program, I work in mostly a demographic Canadian context. I am a fairly positive person and will remain positive in a positive environment. If the environment does not meet my expectations for a safe and dignified workplace I will speak up and try to correct the situation. I am very good at what I do and seek further recognition for my good working abilities. I am also able to speak publicly and teach statistics and computer work. I make an excellent team player and am very forward about tacit and explicit knowledge sharing in the workplace.
