I have conducted research on algebraic topology and a number of other fields. Prior to Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I worked as an applied mathematician and software engineer at large R&D institute in Moscow, Russia. There I developed numerical algorithms of image matching for missile guidance systems. After that I worked at a start-up company on an automated fingerprint identification system. Other projects included database development for various customers. Currently, I am developing a digital image analysis system and an image search engine based on the techniques of algebraic topology. Contact: saveliev@marshall.edu.
