I'm driven by creating tools that allow people to spend more time on what they love - tools that are useful, simple, and have a meaningful impact on the way we work and play.
I run Brand-Yourself.com, the world's first online reputation management platform for job applicants to establish, maintain and monitor a professional web presence that gets them hired. Our tools help job seekers transform themselves from “net nobodies” to visible, credible, proactive job applicants.

I write the Wednesday column for Dan Schawbel's nationally acclaimed Personal Branding Blog, which is consistently ranked a Top 50 Marketing Blog in the World by AdAge, is the #1 job blog by CareerBuilder in 2008, and is syndicated by Forbes, Reuters and Fox Business.

I lead the strategic vision for Brand-Yourself.com, the first web platform to grade, monitor, manage, and improve your online reputation. Now that Google is used for reference checks and pre-screens, Brand-Yourself.com helps you stand out from competition in the job market by establishing a web presence worthy of remark, so you can win (not LOSE) jobs you want.

I co-founded and co-managed iVenture, a student-run, faculty advised group that connects iSchool students to paid projects related to their career goals. We identified local funded projects on and off campus, built and screened a student talent pool, then played matchmaker between students and paid projects.
iVenture is also a resource for student entrepreneurs who need guidance, talent or contacts to help take their idea to reality.
(Publishing industry)
September 2008 — January 2009 (5 months)
I worked with the amazingly talented and creative crew behind Jerk Magazine. I created, organized and standardized the magazine's core business processes including accounting, distribution, advertising and web publishing. I also led transition of its website (http://www.jerkmagazine.net) to a content management system that allows the Jerk Mag staff to edit and publish web pages on their own, cutting out the need to go through a web designer to make changes.
Jerk Magazine has been recognized by national and local professional organizations and has won awards including "Best Student Magazine in the Northeast" from the national Society of Professional Journalists.

At PB&SP I got to work under President Robin Basham, who is by far one of the most intelligent and driven managers I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
My role was mainly research-based, focusing on research and development for the C-GRID (Compliance Global Regulatory Information Database), an open source repository of regulations, rules, frameworks, standards and guidance documents from around the world led by the OMG Regulatory Compliance Alliance (ORCA).

I designed, developed and implemented the website for Groovestand, Syracuse University's premier co-ed a capella group. They are an amazing group of internationally recognized singers and were semi-finalists in the 2007 International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella.
(Computer Software industry)
June 2004 — February 2005 (9 months)
I was a software tester for EasyLobby's Secure Visitor Management (SVM) software, personally coordinating hundreds of successful bug fixes. I developed an intimate relationship with bug tracking systems, and mastered the art of identifying nearly impossible-to-reproduce problems. I worked in tandem with the development team to move coding along as rapidly as possible.
I also completed a number small graphics jobs including re-designing product logos, brochures, and components of user interfaces in the EasyLobby software product family.
One week, I experienced the unique joy of editing software user manuals.
