Chris Miller’s Summary

I like to make things happen and I have an uncanny ability to see and control multiple outcomes from limited input. My experience from marketing and doing my own thing gives me a unique perspective on what's needed to generate the biggest impact for companies with the fewest bodies.

For fun: here are some of the grunt jobs I've been paid to do: rock picker, powder monkey, grave digger, paper boy, bus boy, hod carrier, carpenter, roofer, field hand, grain elevator operator, seed plant sacker, nurse's aid, dish washer, janitor, conveyer builder, receptionist, banquet and event set-ups, pattern drafter, lab tech, window glazer, assistant camp caretaker, etc. (yawn)

Chris Miller’s Specialties:

project management, strategic planning, tactical execution, concept development, copy and design direction, branding and identity management, user and server side software application development and integration, client and vendor management, cost and contract negotiations, etc. (yawn)

Chris Miller’s Experience

  • Co-owner

    Tiger Taco Industries, LLC

    (Think Tanks industry)

    May 2006Present (3 years 8 months)

I took a simple folded over piece of steel and created the first commercial solution to a common problem with using cardboard boxes.

I drove the product and brand development, strategic and business planning, and the sales and marketing execution.

Tiger Tacos are now used all over North America by individuals, five of the Fortune 500, and companies like BlackBerry, AE Outfitters, and Millipore; plus, Purple Tiger Tacos have now invaded the U.K.

  • Owner

    Execution Services, Inc.

    (Think Tanks industry)

    March 1990Present (19 years 10 months)

Execute means "to do" (and to legally kill) and I did.

    Marketing services provided to:
Ramada International, Holiday Inns, Hospitality Franchise Systems, DoubleTree, Best Western International, Budget Rent-a-Car, Nendels, efm group, Park Plaza, Travelodge, etc.

  • Direct report to owner

    EFM Group, Inc.

    (Marketing and Advertising industry)

    July 2000July 2004 (4 years 1 month)

Developed, maintained, and sold graphic design, printing, and marketing services to hospitality clients.

All kinds of stuff goes here and I should scan my portfolios of work as it really was a great company with some amazing people doing wonderful things for fantastic clients (and then the music died).

  • Director, Marketing Services

    Park Plaza International

    (Hospitality industry)

    January 1997January 1999 (2 years 1 month)

I was responsible for the marketing initiatives and production leading to the sale and transfer of the company to Olympus Hospitality; some of the more interesting projects included the rebranding of the tiers and providing technology support. It was an interesting time to be with this company to say the least.

  • Manager, Marketing Service

    Ramada Inc.

    (Hospitality industry)

    July 1987March 1990 (2 years 9 months)

I began as a contract copywriter in the creative services department and when I left, after the company was broken up and sold off in chunks to three companies, I was the manager of a department that was doing all the national advertising, co-op advertising, print and collateral, marketing program development, yellow and white pages, brand identity, and just about whatever it takes to make sure your brand looks fantastic as it's dismembered going into a recession. It was something amazing to see and the people all around us were the only reason I could stand it (80 hour weeks were the norm, but we sure did set the world on fire; at the time we were the second largest hospitality company in the world, and the best in my eyes!~)

Chris Miller’s Education

  • Washington State University

    History, Zoology, Business 19831987

Ran out of money nine credits short of my B.S. in History (ugh!~)

Only male in the A.W.S.; we were the second biggest group on campus and I was the treas. Jr. and Sr. year; amazing experience to say the least!

The Boxing Club wasn't much but I was a champion my Jr. and Sr. years.
