Mr. Gustavsson is a Senior Research Scientist at the Training Systems and Information Fusion office at Saab Microwave Systems. He is an Affiliate Assistant Professor at C4I Center, George Mason University. Gustavsson is also an industrial Ph.D. student at University of Skövde, Sweden enrolled at De Montfort University, Leicester, UK; his research interest is to model and fomalize Operations Intent and Effects, i.e. a machine interrpretable representation of Command/Commander's Intent . He received his M.Sc. in 1995 from University of Skövde, Sweden in Computer Science titled New Generations Representations focusing on Distributed Real-Time Systems. He also holds a B.Sc. in Systems Programming received in 1994.
Since the winter of 1998 he has been working for Saab Microwave Systems (Was Ericsson prior 1 Sept. 2006). He started as a software developer and was the Vice Manager for the Modeling and Simulation office for five years working with business and technology development. The current role as a Senior Research Scientist is to perform applied research in the area of advanced decision support systems with the focus on information models to be used in both military and civilian decision support systems. Gustavsson also continues the work with business development formalizing ideas and finding collaboration partners where ever they might be.
The overarching goals are to finish the PhD studies, deliver C-BML and MSDL according to plan, form a Crisis Management Language in the same spirit as C-BML. Develop embedded training, decision support and build the ultimate Consultation, Command and Control system.
The three major skills of Gustavsson are creativeness, pragmaticness and stubbornness with a touch of humor. Because if it is no fun it’s not funny and if it’s not funny there is no fun, and all I want is to have fun when walking on earth together with family, friends’ co-workers and peers. I dream on!
