Two great coffee shops in two great locations; most recent opening December 2009 at 8310 Greenwood Ave. N. in Seattle, WA in combination with popular, community active used bookstore. Good books, coffee, art and entertainment. Great space in nice community. Proud to be in this venture with Gerry Lovchik and Theo Dzielak.

I own/manage Espresso Buono Garden Cafe in Lynnwood Washington, a secret haven to come to for a quick Italian or American style espresso beverage, or stay for the ambience, comfort, quiet garden setting, amazing friendly service and fabulous custom treats. We have space for informal meetings or private evening functions. You'll find potential for a large and just as comfortable indoor space and lovely landscaped acreage for occasional large events. I display and sell the work of local artists and craftspersons and collect books for you to read at my cafe or buy at 50% to 75% off cover price. We have occasional live music and always encourage lively conversations. We are very community friendly and serve the best espresso around! We boast an international flair with a regular customer base of enthusiastic, young at heart, regular fans ages toddler to 90+ years of age. Our baristas and customers represent an amazing range of talents and diversity of interests.

This was a half time, one year, leave replacement position which I took in order to be closer to family in Poulsbo who were challenged by health issues at the time. I updated and managed an on-line emergency preparedness program that connected our school with a county wide emergency services program. I completed beginning and end of year teacher evaluations with several teachers and was involved with special services, special education, student discipline, lunch and recess management, school improvement planning. I brought together a group of teachers to write a successful artist in residence grant and participated in the design of a district reading and writing workshop presented at our school. I also coordinated the end of year gala to thank school volunteers.

New Horizon School is a non-profit K-12 school for students with learning disabilities. Students came to the school at that time from 21 school districts. As CEO/Administrator, I managed the annual budget and calendar, hired staff, managed and facilitated curriculum planning. I was on the Board of Directors and a member of multiple school committees. I led a successful emergency site search and the school's first capital campaign to purchase the new site and add portable buildings within my first year at the school. I wrote multiple capital campaign and program grants! I presented our program to the community via public speaking and written reports. I continued daily duties of a school principal; discipline, teacher's meetings, attendence tracking, parent meetings, individual education plan meetings, annual calendar planning, emergency preparedness planning and training, conflict resolution, building maintenance, event planning....

I started a program in one public elementary school with six students that grew within three years to include over 100 students in three schools in the North Kitsap School District. I provided music instruction and hired specialists in drama, science, recreation, writing and storytelling to provide additional enrichment classes before and after school. We also provided snacks, homework help, playfield time and followed school district, small business, and DSHS guidelines.

I had a home studio and preschool and contracted with a wide variety of community environments, including hospitals, group homes, state institutions, recreation departments, private K-8 schools, preschools, and individual students/clients in their homes to provide individualized music instruction and music therapy.

Hired by the School District with Title I Grant Funds, I created a program using music, drama, art, movement and playing to assist residents ages 3 to 21 to meet the goals and objectives in their school individual education plans. At that time, Fircrest's severely handicapped school-age residents attended school on the Fircrest Campus. My position, though funded by the School District, was in Fircrest's Recreation department rather than in the school. I worked with school and recreation staff to create the program. Title I grant funds ended and eventually students left campus to go to "regular" education programs in the district.
