Duties & Responsibilities:
At Eurocom I had the opportunity to work on a number of different projects.
1. The main project at Eurocom is the campaign management system called Mobius. It is a web based system written in Python using the Django Web Framework.
Mobius takes in messages from a multitude of sources for various campaigns. Those messages are then reported on to the client giving various statistics.
As the only developer in Eurocom at the time I was responsible for the entire setup of the project including Server setup and database design and maintenance.
2. Mobius TV is a project that was spun off of Mobius. It is a C# front-end that allows TV Producers to show various messages directly on TV from the Mobius system including voting charts, message scrollers, interactive games etc.
3. Another project that I am responsible for at Eurocom is the Heart Club. Heart Club is a mobi club designed for Heart FM, a radio station in Cape Town, South Africa. It is a simple club which returns valuable statistical information on the radio station's listenership due to the user's interactions. -

Duties & Responsibilities:
At BB&D I had the opportunity to work on a number of different systems.
1. Nedbank Home and Vehicle Finance authorization systems were my first projects. They were systems that exposed a C# Web Service to financial institutions allowing them to pass through defined XML structures that would be evaluated. A web interface using XSLT to format the XML was used to print the submissions. I was responsible for all areas of the projects, from design and development to releasing into production.
2. Next was a C# based project that had to have a sleek fast user interface that created the ability for users to design and view flow diagrams that SWIFT bank messages would pass through. Each “flow block” was a Python script that made decisions on the messages as they passed through. My responsibilities were to design and develop the front-end components of the system. To make it both visually appealing as well as fast.
3. I was then involved in a Retail Point of Sale (POS) system. A C# based front-end would connect to a Java server application.
The system encompassed all facets of the retail business including Head Office functionality to sync with branches.
4. Then I was moved to a project for SARS. I was involved in writing applications that deal with Filing Season data such as tax returns, employer reconciliations etc. In my time on the project I was promoted to a Team Leader position where I managed various sub-systems, developers and the support for those systems that were running in the production environment.
I also liaise with the client and gave feedback to the developers on any issues that need to be resolved. -

I worked on a team that created and maintained an in-house C# ASP.NET project, that would track all customer's phones which came in for repairs. It would use a basic work flow system as administration staff and technicians would pass on or accept devices through various steps.
A Microsoft SQL Server database was used store the data. It would keep track of all parts used to repair the device for billing purposes. All development changes and new requirements were shared among all developers.
Crystal Reports was used for reporting. I was solely responsible for all reporting in the system. -

Duties & Responsibilities:
I originally joined Nokia as a call center agent. In order to give telephonic support a lot of information was given to us in files which would in turn be used to page through as you would attempt to resolve the query.
This would get frustrating at times as you would need to page through a multitude of pages to get to the relevant information. I decided to learn web development and moved all the information into a simple intra-net system for all the other call center agents to use which I hosted on my own computer in IIS.
I was then moved out of the call center and offered a position to develop and maintain the web site for Nokia South Africa. The development department was subsequently outsourced to Exact Mobile Phones.
