Ricardo Aranda, better known as "Pekas," began his career as a copywriter at Wunderman, Mexico City, in 1994. He rose to be the Creative Director responsible for brands such as Ford, American Express, Ericsson, United Distillers, IBM and AT&T among others.
In 1999, Pekas shifted to MRM (McCann Erickson) as Creative Director on Sanofi and Lucent Technologies.
He then moved to the direct marketing focused, Publicis Dialog, which eventually became an independent Agency called RelationWired Group.
In May of 2003, Pekas accepted a position at JWT Connect (currently named Glue) as Chief Creative Director. His work reflected a wide range of media. Accounts: Estée Lauder, Wal-Mart, DHL, Nokia, and Nestlé among the more than 30 for which he was responsible.
In 2006, he moved to Los Angeles as Associate Creative Director at LatinSphere LLC. Among the accounts he handled were Disney, Verizon, and XM Satellite Radio.
Pekas was Chief Creative Director and Co-founder of Plastilina LLC in Los Angeles, CA, with accounts like Mohawk Flooring, Southern Wine & Spirits and New American Dimensions.
Pekas is also an extraordinary Latin voice-over talent. He has worked as a voice-over talent for brands like McDonald's, XM Satellite Radio and the TV show Ugly Betty. He is represented in Los Angeles by AVO Talent.
Nowadays, he is Chief Creative Officer at Arc Worldwide/Leo Burnett Mexico, and he oversees a team of 15 creatives.
This bilingual and bi-cultural professional has been the recipient of a range of industry awards including: London International Advertising Awards, Creative Circle, and the ALMADI's Amauta Awards. He was also short listed in the Clio, FIAP, and DMA Awards, and has served as part of the jury for the London International Advertising Awards and the Painani Awards in Mexico. He has written for important magazines and has been a speaker at the AMMD conventions in Mexico and the Santiago de Cali and Medellin Universities, in Colombia.
