Mr. Pelosi has been President of the San Francisco city government organization for over five years, developing legislation with input from citizens and forming community outreach programs that promote environmentally friendly activities. A central component of Pelosi’s efforts has been the research into and utilization of innovative technologies to reduce San Francisco's carbon footprint. While maintaining oversight of San Francisco's recycling programs, Pelosi has seen them achieve the highest recycling rates in the country at 70%.
