Paul Nicholson’s Summary

My passion and drive is for new media, marketing, and using whatever means possible to develop a relationship between customer and brand. For the last 10 years I have studied and worked at finding new and interesting ways to reach markets and consumers. The process of "getting a message across" and helping customers feel at ease with new products they don't understand is one I thoroughly enjoy.

I have also honed my skills over the last few years in the sales world, both as a ground-level salesperson, as well as in a sales support role. I have personally managed a $40million annual sales portfolio and averaged well over goals every year in sales. I have also managed a new product line for a major IT company, responsible for everything from overseeing product development, to bringing the product to market, to ensuring a strong product lifecycle.

It was in that role that I was able to begin to combine the sales and marketing experience that I had gained. I developed internal marketing campaigns, incentive programs, marcom, mass mailings, and other endeavors. I managed a $1.5mil per year budget in sales incentives alone. I also coordinated demand generation activities ranging from email campaigns, website banner advertisements, and social media outlets, to more traditional media campaigns. I was also responsible for tracking the success of those efforts on a business level and adjusting strategies to ensure success.

I would like to further stretch my experience by pursuing roles that challenge my creative/marketing side. I am particularly interested in going after media creation and marketing efforts, and combining that with my expertise in social media to create a strong and lasting bond between consumer and brand.

Paul Nicholson’s Specialties:

I am an expert at common MS Office applications such as Word and Excel, far too much experience with PowerPoint, and have some experience with Access and MySQL databases. I also have past expert level experience with HTML and CSS, as well as some experience with javascript, PHP, and Flash, and even a little experience with some ASP scripting. I have strong aesthetic sense and do quite a bit of both video and photo editing in my spare time, as well as fancy myself a good photographer.
