Run by ex-journalists and big brand professionals, Loop PR (www.loop-pr.co.uk)succeeds where so many others fail – we take a company, we find the story and then we build that brand by creating its news agenda and delivering consistent, powerful and relevant media coverage.
Paul Johnson came to PR with rare insider knowledge of the mind of a journalist – and has been using this to the benefit of his clients ever since. His impressive news and broadcast credentials have made him an expert in uncovering the stories behind both big brands and growing smaller names and his familiarity with news-gathering processes and the inside of a studio means he is more than
qualifed to act as a spokesperson for these clients – in any situation.
Currently, names such as Streetcar, Laithwaites, Reliance Security, Merck, Brroadland Wineries, Mercedes Benz and Kimberly Clark are reaping the rewards of his experience.
Highlights of Paul’s broadcast career include senior editorial control of 5Live’s flagship breakfast programme with 6.5 million listeners. Here he led a team of journalists situated across the globe, managing their reactions to breaking news and current affairs, writing scripts and liaising with major figures in the world of business and politics. During this time, the team won a Gold Sony Award for Best Breakfast Programme.
From here he moved online – taking on a senior editorial position on the BBC’s worldwide website (99 million visitors a week) winning various top industry awards. He also had a key involvement in launching and developing BBC interactive TV.
Most recently, he was responsible for brand development, copywriting and design for The Sunday Times Wine Club where he built a comprehensive knowledge of the direct mail industry and its sales engines. Once again, the awards kept coming – the club was the winner of the ECMOD Best All Round Catalogue Business for three years running.
