Technology changes. One day, after working the same job for 10 years, many people find they have no current skills in the today's technology field, or the skills they do have became a commodity long ago. I will not be one of those people. If my professional career becomes dull, I use my personal time to remain sharp, to stay at the bleeding edge, and to understand my craft well.
I am an open source enthusiast, a tinkerer, and a problem solver. I often find myself writing the glue to two different pieces of software that would make a very good fit. I pride myself on being dynamic, quick to absorb new technologies, quick to propose new ideas (even if they are hair-brained much of the time).

Iron Lion aims to help plan and implement technical solutions for companies who require a low time-to-market, but with a stable and maintainable infrastructure.
Being in a dynamic environment means staying ahead of competition, understanding the newest technologies and toolkits, and providing scalable, stable, and quick solutions. Languages and frameworks include python/Django, Ruby/rails, php, javascript (jQuery, Extjs...), Java (J2EE, Android...). Much of my time is spent on research of these technologies, so that my customers have the benefit of developers who have run the gamut of programming technologies.

As a new startup, Mocapay provides a cell phone sms payment system. As a software engineer, my role is to provide support to existing code, add new features, and to provide documentation and use-case scenarios.
The nature of a startup required many skills, many of which I already had, and many that I had to pick up quickly.

Precision Technologies is a startup specializing in contract software development services. As part of the Precision team, I was exposed to many different projects, and learned many things from many knowledgeable peers.
The specific assignment I worked on was a social networking framework called Bakomatic. Funded by the Bakersfield Californian, Bakomatic helped to bring new demographics to the newspaper through it's social participation sites (http://people.bakersfield.com, http://www.bakotopia.com), and eventually evolved into a licensable product, used by sites such as http://www.amp.az and http://www.thejhub.com

COMPUtek Dental Systems was a leader in its field when it was decided they would move away from designing CAD software systems and focus on dental office technology integration.
While working for COMPUtek, I had many different positions, starting in the shipping and receiving area, moving to inventory control, then moving to field work, then to project management, and finally finishing my time there as the network engineer, assisting with the planning and implementation of the dental technology integration, ensuring that the proper software and hardware were available to field technicians and assisting in R&D
