Patrick V. Fiel Sr. is the public safety advisor for ADT Security Services, providing security advice to schools, government agencies and private industry. He brings more than 30 years of security and law enforcement experience to the position. During his time with ADT, Fiel has conducted more than 100 television, radio, newspaper and magazine interviews as a public and school safety expert.
Prior to joining ADT in 2004, Fiel served six years as the executive director of school security for the Washington, D.C., public school system. There he managed 163 school campuses and its more than 70,000 students, in addition to managing a staff of 365 security officers. While in Washington, Fiel developed and implemented a proactive comprehensive safety and security program that helped reduce security incidences by 45 percent overall and by 50 to 90 percent where security technology was implemented. He also served as the emergency preparedness coordinator between the school district and the city government and briefed members of the school board of education, city council and the control board who answered to Congress on budget and security issues for the school system.
Fiel was instrumental as a resource to media as well as school security personnel during the Columbine school shooting, the 9/11 incident that involved New York and the Washington, D.C., area, and the 2007 shootings at Virginia Tech.
Fiel is retired from the United States Army, where he was highly decorated with numerous awards and commendations. During his 22-year tenure with the United States Army Military Police Corps, Fiel maintained operational and management oversight roles with the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and at NATO/SHAPE Headquarters in Belgium.
He and his wife, Kookie, reside in North Carolina. They have three adult children and four grandchildren.

During his 22-year tenure with the United States Army Military Police Corps, Fiel maintained operational and management oversight roles with the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and at NATO/SHAPE Headquarters in Belgium.
He also served as the senior law enforcement adviser at the West Point Military Academy in New York, overseeing day-to-day security operations servicing a military and civilian population of 30,000.
He assumed command for all special events, including presidential and foreign dignitary protection and planned and executed traffic/crowd control for 27 NCAA sports programs, a 45,000-seat football stadium and four major sports complexes. He was responsible for the safety of spectators, athletes, and 3 million annual visitors to West Point, and provided security at four Army-Navy football games in Philadelphia, PA.
