Having spent over 30 years in the field of education, I am now utilizing my experiences and training in writing and volunteering. Most of my years were spent as a counselor working with children and families. Rapport with children has always been easy for me, and equally, enjoyable. My goal is to continue tutoring with at risk students and spending more time with the foster children at Angels Arms. These activities are very rewarding, but I,also, realize my need for personal growth as a counselor and member of a world community. I attend workshops and networking activities as a participant and a presenter. This is my 19th year presenting a continuing education class at Meramec on Career Planning and Assessment. I enjoy meeting diverse groups of people, and this class has provided that for me. Every year when I think I am going to make it my last class, I sign on again! My husband and I volunteer for the USO which gives us a great deal of satisfaction. Presently, I am working to market my book, Successful Second Marriages. My goal is to reach groups where I can speak and present the essence of the book: hope, encouragement and inspiration that a second marriage can be successful. There is another book in my creative mental box, a book that I have a passion for, but not finding time to get it in words.. I find it hard to comprehend people who say, they are bored! There is so much to do, so little time!
Working with children, meeting people, speaking to groups. The ability to rapport well with children and adults from a variety of environments. Teaching and writing.

I have retired from Rockwood after 15 years of service. My years of experience span over 30 years in education. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. Currently, I volunteer in a variety of environments which include school settings, and the USO. Aside from volunteering, I work on marketing my book, Successful Second Marriages. I also submit articles to different internet sites, one being 50PlusSt.Louis.com-a very creative and resourceful communication.
Life continues to be interesting, enjoyable and productive. Indeed, Life is Good.

My responsibilities are to provide mandated curriculum to grades K-5th.
I am now only working one day as I opted to retire from full time employment. I wanted to have more time to work on my book, pursue travel, and give time as a volunteer.

I am a former school counselor, but preferring to use the word, "reinventing" vs. "retired"! I have written a book, Successful Second Marriages which keeps me busy learning the ropes of marketing. My focus is on support groups, church groups, bookstores where the book will be viewed as a beneficial resource. I write articles for 50PlusSt.Louis.com. ,as well, as some other sites. Volunteering is an important part of my current life's phase. Two organizations I actively support are the USO and Angels' Arms. I have found the St.Louis Writer's Guild to be a very interesting group to be involved with, and have placed membership. Life is very eventful at this time of "reinventing" myself!

I consider myself "reinventing" vs. "reitiring" from the full time work world. I have written a book, Successful Second Marriages. My goal is to find support groups, church groups, bookstores, etc. that will find my book
beneficial in these areas as a helpful resource. I am actively involved in volunteerism. Two organizations that I find especially rewarding in supporting are the
USO and Angels' Arms.

Recently completed a book, Successful Second Marriages. This was goal that was fostered by my experience with families in my career as a school counselor. I wanted to provide people with stories of other couples who so far had "beat the odds".
Along with volunteering, marketing my book, my husband and I have squeezed in travel time. This past Nov. I attended a Woman;s Way Retreat in Sedona, Az.
It was a wonderful experience, and we were awed by the scenery - a second time is imminent!
Presently, I am excited by the opportunity to promote my book via an appearance on Great Day St.Louis - a brief time, 4-5, minutes but hopefully, enough, to get the word out on the value of the book.
reading, travel, spending time with friends, more reading! Social networking.
