Patou is the proof of Ogilvy's reputation as a true network. In her 13 Ogilvy-years she has worked in Brussels, Paris, NY, London and Cape Town.
A Commercial Engineer university graduate, she joined Ogilvy Belgium in 1992, building up experience in crm, direct & integrated marketing for clients in many industries. In 1995 she joined Microsoft, as the Direct & Online Communications Manager Benelux... a fabulous experience. But missing agency life, she joined Ogilvy again in 1998 as the European Account Director for IBM Software, based in Paris, managing the account internationally and across disciplines. Two years later she moved to NY as Ogilvy's 1st Global Knowledge Manager. Under her guard Truffles, Ogilvy's intranet, became an invaluable resource for 11,000 employees in 474 offices, putting a constantly updated treasure trove of communication best practices at their fingertips.
In March 2003 Patou joined the Ogilvy EAME team, supporting offices in 20 countries. She also became the Telco Taskforce Leader. Ogilvy services over 40 telco clients around the world and Patou facilitates knowledge sharing.
In 2005 Patou moved to Cape Town, South Africa, to combine her EAME role with that of Customer & Digital Strategy Director Cape Town. Living in South-Africa and being part of one of Ogilvy's most creative agencies, she loved the challenge of putting what she preaches into practice and contributing to excellent work for Ogilvy's clients.
After 2 years and too many frequent flyer miles she moved back to Europe as the region's Digital Director. Passionate about new media, she continues to enthuse colleagues and clients on how media fragmentation and technology have given consumers more choice and more control, obliging marketers to rethink how they will reach their audiences effectively. She is a popular speaker at conferences with her 'Welcome to the All-Ways On Consumer' speech.
