Russell Smith was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. His family emigrated to The Bronx, NY in 1989 and lived there for two years. They then moved to Orangeville, Ontario.
He attended the Orangeville District Secondary School (ODSS), graduated and then carried onto Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning where he studied Multimedia Design and Production for two years earning himself an Honors Diploma upon graduation.
Shortly after Russell then landed a job as Webmaster within the IT Services department at Canada’s largest art and design university: The Ontario College of Art & Design (OCAD). He worked solely in this capacity for 3.5 years until the role switched hands to the Marketing & Communications department. At year four the role morphed into what is known now as “Web Analyst” and that is where he proudly stands today.
Russell also along with good friend Andrew Richmond run a small design shop on the side, aptly named Smith & Richmond. The shop specializes in web/graphic design and development, SEO/SEM, website content management/maintenance and web analytics consultation, implementation and revision.
Russell and his wife Leslie currently live at the Garment Factory Lofts in Leslieville, Toronto and just had a little baby girl Stella Ma Smith on August 16 at 00:41 hrs!!
Currently Russell is working toward a bachelor of commerce (BComm) degree with a major in financial services at Athabasca University and has just completed the UBC Award of Achievement in Web Analytics program.
Russell is extremely passionate about web analytics and the web in general and looks forward to where this new role as analyst and continual educational knowledge take him.

I also ensure compliance with industry standards, incorporation of leading web technologies and industry standards, and a high degree of usability and accessibility in all online marketing and communications products.

I also ensured a high degree of usability, effectiveness, and support for visual design, guide the College in re-design and ongoing development of a superior Internet presence, incorporating leading programming and best practices in Web design and online digital communications.
