Research Assistant at University of Alberta
Canada
My experience has been in graphic design, teaching, and academic research. I have worked a number of jobs in design, and continue to receive freelance work. Recent example include an interactive animation of WWI trench raids (Peace and War in the 21st Century) and an online tool for generating maps (The Hamilton Spectator). In addition, I am a seasonal photographer (Chapell Studio).
My teaching experience is as a teaching assistant in academia (McMaster University) and as an instructor in the business sector (publishing, Metroland West Media Group).
My goals are fairly abstract in that they are primarily ideological. I hope to contribute toward progress in technology, wherever I may be. This may embody itself in multiple forms: considering existing systems and their shortcomings, breaking down human interactions and needs into understandable rules, and imagining the next steps for making our technologies work for us.
