I'm currently working at the intersection of graphics and compilers, first at Microsoft on the HLSL compiler in the DirectX team and now on a shading compiler at Adobe which is currently used by AfterEffects CS3 to generate high performance image processing filters for the GPU.
In the past, I have also done work in human figure animation on techniques to create controllable spaces of animation from small sets of animation examples. This work is known as Verbs & Adverbs and is the work I'm best known for within the research community.
Additionally, I worked on security for about 5 years on DRM and policy expression using a prolog-like description language called XrML, which later became the MPEG Rights Expression Language. While I'm not interested in security work at present, it informs my work in graphics.
I'm looking to sync up with colleagues, but not looking for jobs at present. Adobe is a great place to work... I'd be happy to share my experiences with you.
