Onic's 16-year business experience is diverse: 9 years as a venture capitalist, 4 as an entrepreneur and 3 in financial services.
He is the investment Director of Capital Connect Ventures since the fund's inception, managing investments in the fields of medical devices, energy, recycling and consumer goods.
Previously he founded and later sold two technology companies, ihavemoved Ltd in London and ich-zieh-um GmbH in Hamburg. He sourced investors including Rothschild’s, RWE, Hyundai and MIT’s Nicholas Negroponte who invested $10 million. CNN covered IHM since its inception and featured it as an innovative start-up. In 2003 Royal Mail Plc and Deutsche Post AG acquired the two companies.
Onic’s previous venture capital experience originates from US-based Dorian Eagle Financial Partners (Hadjipateras Group), where he financed investments in energy, transportation and technology. He started his career in Boston in 1992 as an executive at John Hancock - now Manulife Financial the 4th largest Financial Services group in the world.
He holds a BSc in Management from Bentley and a CSS in Business Administration from Harvard.
