Mr. Aguilar Medrano is founding partner of the Mexican law firm S.L. Sterling, S.C. His main is business law and specializes in real estate. He has a considerable experience in the structuring and negotiation of joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions in real estate, industrial and commercial ventures. He has participated in transactions representing both, domestic and international companies. In over 15 years of professional practice, Mr. Aguilar Medrano has take part in the creation of investment and financial products in debt markets in Mexico, the UK and the U.S., in the design of legal risk management schemes and he is pioneer in Mexico in the introduction of corporate governance structures in family owned companies.
Mr. Aguilar Medrano is a member of the Barra Mexicana Colegio de Abogados (Mexican Bar Association), the American Bar Association (ABA), the U.S.-Mexico Bar Association, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the British Insurance Law Association (BILA) and the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
Mr. Aguilar Medrano holds a Law Degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), a Master’s Degree (MPhil L.A.S.) from Oxford University and is a doctorate candidate (PhD) at Warwick University. He is arbitrator on corporate and financial and commercial transactions at the Internacional Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Mexican Arbitration Center (Centro de Arbitraje de México CAM) and has lectured in several institutions of higher education including El Colegio de México.
