Frank O'Mahony’s Summary
Newton was partly my fault.
I handled the PR side of Apple's global Newton launch. We did a great job - and, soon afterwards, the product did too, but it was too late. (In case you hadn't heard of it, Newton was the first commercial PDA - before Palm, before Blackberry, before i-Anything) Before Newton I was UK public relations manager for Apple, where I also did several pan-European launch programs.
Since Apple I've done many marketing communications gigs in Silicon Valley, and co-founded a solar company, Helion Solar Labs, in New Mexico. We were going to be a competitor to companies like NanoSolar, but in the end, we weren't for reasons that I'll happily discuss in private! But I have an abiding interest in marketing the solar industry - it's fascinating.
In New Mexico I've added economic development and real estate experience to my portfolio, following three years working for the New Mexico Economic Development Department as Director of Marketing & Communications and helping to launch the NM Economic Development Partnership. I'm also a licensed Realtor, qualifying broker of my own real estate business based in Santa Fe.
I build on my economic development background and continuing contacts to assist with incentive and financing options when companies are considering expansion/relocation into New Mexico.
